United for Wildlife transport taskforce
In 2014, The Duke of Cambridge announced the formation of the Transport taskforce. The objective being to engage the transport sector in identifying and developing relevant and targeted solutions to wildlife trafficking. The taskforce brought together transport stakeholders including airports, shipping companies and airlines with law enforcement and other agencies. Identifying and facilitating action led by the private sector. This has continued and as more and more transportation companies sign up to this important initiative the harder the trade in illegal wildlife becomes.
