New Routes in 2017

Qatar Airways increases capacity into 2018
Qatar Airways, Increasing capacity for Passenger and Cargo Aircraft

One of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, Qatar Airways launched 11 exciting new destinations in 2017, including Auckland, New Zealand – the world’s longest commercial flight – Nice; France; Dublin, Republic of Ireland; Skopje; Sohar, Oman; Kyiv, Ukraine; Prague, Czech Republic, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina; Adana, Turkey; Chiang Mai, Thailand and St. Petersburg, Russia. In addition to launching flights to beautiful Chiang Mai, its fourth destination in Thailand, the airline also introduced a fifth daily non-stop service to Bangkok as well as a daily service to Krabi, offering even more convenience and flexibility when travelling to and from the Land of Smiles.

Qatar doesn’t stop there with new routes in 2018

In January 2018, it will commence services to Pattaya, the airline’s fifth Thai destination, They are also looking to add a new direct daily service to Hanoi, and increase the service to Ho Chi Minh from seven to 10 flights a week.

More routes and Larger aircraft is good news for cargo even though the A380 isn’t really ideal for freight forwarders.  Qatar are booking the trend with two new Boeing 747-800 freights and it’s thirteenth B777 freighter showing their commitment to cargo.  Indeed dedicated freighter flights to Pittsburgh / Buenos Aires / Sao Paulo / Quito / Miami / Phnom Penh and Yangon shows their commitment to developing a freighter network second to none.

You can only see a continuation in market share throughout 2018 for an airline which continues to invest on a global scale.
