Anker Logistica deliver airport boarding tunnels

Problems with air travel across the world abound but Colombia continues with their project to upgrade Matecana International Airport. Anker Logistica, A Project Cargo specialist and member of the Project Cargo Network delivers new and improved airport boarding tunnels.

We received a very special request from MatecaƱa International Airport in Pereira City, Colombia. The area is one of the most touristic and beautiful places in our country and the city is considered as a new platform for our country so the airport has a big project to rebuild and extend their operations to cover more destinations and generate more air traffic to this Colombian state.

Andrea Manrique : Anker Logistica

This project consisted of pieces weighing over 16 Tonne and totalled 220cbm. After 29 days in transit from Turkey to Buenaventura the cargo arrived in Colombia. After a fast customs process, establishing the correct protocols release was made almost before vessel arrival. Despite Buenaventura not being the best breakbulk terminal in colombia Anker Logistica ensured careful handling to successfully deliver the cargo to final destination.

The challenges overcome

A specific challenge for this project was the local transportation in Colombia. The highways between the port and the airport are not designed for such big loads. Anker Logistica’s expertise in project cargo came to the fore. Road inspections and surveyors allowed them to determine the best route. Securing all permissions and permits to make the transport possible. Anker received great congratulations from their client and a big thank you for all processes. With specific praise for their excellent and constant communication throughout the entire shipment and movement.
